Volunteer

Please consider volunteering in our classroom.  

I will have a sign-up sheet when you come for your child's pre-assessment.

It is fun, very helpful, and your kids and I will love having you visit!

The following positions are available and listed in order of need.

Homework Helpers  The responsibilities will be to remove homework from children’s folders. The folders will then be loaded with that night’s homework or other information being sent home. Parent volunteers will then help individual students with reinforcement activities. You choose a day and come each week on that day 10 minutes before class starts.

Math Centers Each Wednesday there will be four- 10 minute math activity rotations.  One group will be conducted by Mrs. Wood and the other 3 groups will be planned by Mrs. Wood and conducted by parents. I will need a very firm commitment that you will be able to consistently fulfil this obligation as our success will be dependent upon volunteers.  Any substitute volunteers will need to be communicated to Mrs. Wood as soon as possible.

Math Floaters Parent will walk around the room during math instruction and assist children as needed. Not sure what days yet. I will need 2 parents.

Writing Workshop

Parent will walk around the room during our writing workshop to assist children as needed. Not sure of the days yet. I would like 2 parents.
